Why does the app need notification access?+
CatchMsg reads the notifications posted by other apps so it can match your keywords and senders. Without this permission, catching cannot work.
Does it work even when the room is on silent (muted)?+
Yes — as long as the room is on silent, not fully off. Keep the room set to silent (not turned off entirely): the messenger will deliver a quiet notification in the status bar, and CatchMsg will catch it and alert you with sound for only your keywords and senders.
